Passing of K9 Tommy

In April, 2013, K9 Tommy died from illness. Tommy arrived in Marysville in 2007 from the Netherlands and was assigned to Sgt. Miller. After qualifying in obedience, apprehension and narcotics detection, Tommy hit the street with Sgt. Miller. During his six years on patrol, Tommy was responsible with the seizure of several pounds of methamphetamine, marijuana and heroin. He was also responsible for the seizure over $150,000 in illegal proceeds from narcotics sales. Tommy also made case law that helps police K9 teams. As a team, they were able to reach out to hundreds of children at dozens of schools hopefully allowing for them to see police officers in a more positive light. The citizens of Marysville thank you for your service Tommy.
