Marysville Fire Department
As the second oldest fire department west of the Mississippi, the Marysville Fire Department was established in 1851. Serving the residents of the City of Marysville, District 10 and Hallwood, the department runs approximately 2500 emergency calls per year. The 85 square miles that the department protects is comprised of everything from a downtown city area to residential areas to farm and wildland areas. The department is an all risk fire department and as a result is responsible for responding to a variety of emergencies including: structure fires, vegetation fires, medical emergencies, vehicle accidents, and hazardous material incidents. The department also has a technical aspect that includes; responsibility for business fire safety inspections, fire prevention activities, and public education. Daily there are 4 personnel on duty; 1 battalion chief, 1 fire captain and 2 fire apparatus engineers. The department also has an active volunteer component with 15 volunteer firefighters. |
