Reflecting on 2013

January - 2014

With the holiday season and 2013 coming to an end, here at the Marysville Police Department, our enduring values and mission focus stands. A new year brings the opportunity to look at where we have been and where we are planning to go as a hometown police force. Our thanks to those in the community who continue to provide us support as well as healthy and constructive recommendations to improve service.

As I reflect on the events of this past year and my short time thus far as Chief of Police, my top goal is to continue growing our level of service, professionalism and community involvement. As the most visible portion of city government, I see our police department as a vehicle to bring our diverse community together. Our strength is based on the deepest commitment to our oath of office and our respect for the civil rights of our citizens. We will continue to be the first line of defense against those who wish to harm the innocent and frail, never compromising our integrity, accountability and professionalism. We will continue to strive for excellence and remain resolved to support the forward minded efforts of our City leaders.  We will partner with the citizenry through a community oriented policing commitment. With the support of our community, our City leaders, and our allied law enforcement agencies, I am certain we will achieve these goals.

Thank you again for your unwavering support and may this new year bring you peace, joy and good health!

D. Baker
